Available from 1st November 2025 until the end of February 2026 in 212 Asda cafés nationwide
Asda has announced the return of its popular £1 Winter Warmer café meal to support the over-60s this winter, as many continue to face financial pressures during the colder months.
From 1st November until the end of February 2026, anyone aged 60 and over can enjoy soup, bread and butter, and tea or coffee for just £1 at any of Asda’s 212 cafés across the UK.
Customers can choose between two soup flavours – Tomato or Chicken – both served with slices of buttered bread and a hot drink.
Last winter, half a million £1 Winter Warmer meals were served to pensioners, underscoring the initiative's vital role for those living on fixed incomes.
A Warm Meal and a Friendly Space
Asda’s Community Champions are encouraging local over-60s groups and individuals to visit their store cafés to enjoy the £1 Winter Warmer meal and use the opportunity to chat with others.
Last year, Asda’s Christmas Community Tracker revealed the scale of loneliness among older people during the festive season. One in ten over-60s said they weren’t sure they would speak to anyone between 15th December and 1st January, and another one in ten said they had gone to a supermarket simply to speak to another person.
Why It Matters
Jordan Cummings, Buying Manager for Cafés and Concessions at Asda, said:
“We know winter is set to be incredibly hard for thousands of pensioners as they continue to worry about how to keep themselves warm in the face of rising living costs and on a fixed income. Last year alone we sold over half a million meals showing the vital need for this initiative. By bringing Winter Warmers back this November, we hope it will continue to be just as impactful across the winter months for those who need it most, as well as offering a relaxed social environment to come and chat to others.”
