Royal Mail will collect your parcels for FREE this May!
Post updated to reflect that this offer is no longer available, the cost for collection is now 60p per item, up to 10 items per order. Royal Mail are offering their new, collect a parcel from your home service, for FREE this May.
Normally Royal Mail will charge 72p per parcel, up to a maximum of 5 parcels per day, to collect from your home, to save you having to pop to a Post Office to send off your parcels, however this May, the service is being offered at no charge, up to 5 parcels per day.
This is very useful for anyone wanting to post off their Ebay sales or maybe order returns, and it's certainly something I've been making full use of!
To arrange collection, you need to buy your postage online. To do this go to the Royal Mail collection website and once there, you tell the system the weight and size of your parcel, and what service you want to send your item via (eg 2nd class, 1st class, signed for etc), and you will be given a price. You simply enter the recipients address and your own address. Once you have done that you can schedule a collection to be made from your home/work and you choose your collection day, (You will be offered Monday to Saturday), and from there, you pay using either your debit or credit card, or you can pay by Paypal if you prefer.
You will then be able to print off your shipping label, which you attach to your parcel. A postal worker will then come and collect the parcel from you, on your chosen day, and the parcel is then on it's way!
