Where To Get the Best Price on a 1-Litre Bottle of Baileys This Christmas (But You Need To Be Quick!)
Every Christmas, the supermarkets battle it out for the cheapest Baileys. It has become a proper seasonal tradition. Prices drop quickly, deals appear for a few days, and everyone rushes to grab a bottle for hot chocolate, coffee and Christmas Eve treats.
This year, you can get Baileys for as little as £10, and with the right cashback trick, some people could even end up getting their Baileys for free. If you want the cheapest Baileys this week, here is the latest picture including confirmed deal end dates, loyalty card rules, cheaper alternatives and the smartest cashback tips.
Prices drop fast, deals appear for a few days, and everyone rushes to grab a bottle for hot chocolate, coffee and Christmas Eve treats.
If you are trying to get the cheapest Baileys this week, here is the latest picture, including verified deal end dates, loyalty card rules, potentially cheaper alternatives, and some small cashback tricks that can save you a little extra.
I bought Baileys last year from Morrisons using £10 of More Card vouchers, so it cost me nothing. This year, I am skipping it because it does not fit with my healthy eating and weight-loss programme. Still, I follow these deals closely, and this is the most accurate snapshot of the deals right now.
Baileys Price War: Current Deals And Deal End Dates
All the supermarket's Baileys offers are loyalty card prices. You need the right card for the right store. They are free to download and free to use, so it makes sense to get them set up before you shop.
Here are the confirmed deals and end dates for the leading supermarkets:
Tesco
Available online and in-store
£11.05 in Scotland
Deal ends Monday, 8th December
Sainsbury’s
Available online and in-store
Deal ends Saturday, 6th December
Asda
Available online and in-store
Deal ends Monday, 8th December
No loyalty card required
Costco
Price includes VAT
Deal ends Monday, 8th December, or while stocks last
Costco membership required
Morrisons
Dropped to £9.97 for Black Friday weekend, but that deal has now ended, and it's now £14
Last year, it offered a litre bottle for £8.50, but required a £45 More Card spend to qualify for the lower price.
Price Comparison At A Glance
Tesco: £10 with Clubcard, deal ends 8th December
Sainsbury’s: £10 with Nectar, deal ends 6th December
Asda: £10, deal ends 8th December
Costco: £9.99 including VAT, deal ends 8th December or while stocks last
Morrisons: No current deal
Cashback stacking for extra savings
You can reduce the price slightly with cashback apps when you buy a supermarket gift card first. Cashback on gift cards is usually between 2.5% and 4%, depending on the retailer. Costco does not offer cashback.
JamDoughnut is one of the quickest methods. You buy a supermarket gift card, get instant cashback and then use that gift card to pay for the Baileys. Use code PPUK if you want the bonus added to your account.
TopCashback also highlighted the £10 Baileys deals. Sometimes they offer new customer bonuses for online grocery orders, which can cover the full cost of the bottle if it is your first shop. If you use the subscription cashback service Complete Savings, you may be able to get 10% cashback on your entire online food shop, including a bottle of Baileys!
RAKUTEN IS THE BEST CASHBACK DEAL!
The cashback service Rakuten is offering a £25 bonus for new users when you spend £60 (£50 +VAT) at its partnered retailers. These include Sainsbury's, and so if you were to make a £60 Sainsbury's home delivery or collection order for your Baileys and other groceries, you'd be able to claim a £25 bonus from Rakuten, meaning your Baileys would be free; in fact, you get 2.5 bottles for free! The £25 deal is a referral bonus, and you can use this link to sign up and get your £25 cashback bonus.
Are flavoured Baileys cheaper too?
Normally, they are not. Special editions such as chocolate orange or mint rarely drop as low as the classic 1 litre Baileys. If you want the lowest price, choose the original version, or if you want the 'fancy flavours', expect to pay more!
Cheaper alternatives to Baileys
Supermarket own-brand Irish cream can be much cheaper, especially when Baileys is not on promotion.
Some own-brand bottles are surprisingly good and worth trying if you do not want to spend full price or want something different for hot chocolate or cocktails.
Current examples:
Aldi
Ballycastle Classic Country Cream 70cl for £5.59
Works out at the equivalent cost of £7.99 per litre
Lidl
Deluxe Irish Cream Liqueur 1 litre for £7.99
Asda
Brady’s Country Cream 70cl for £6.08
Works out at the equivalent cost of £8.69 per litre
Tesco
Carthy’s Country Cream Liqueur 70cl for £7
Works out at the equivalent cost of £10 per litre
Asda
Extra Special Blonde Chocolate Flavour Cream Liqueur 70cl for £8.16
Works out at the equivalent cost of £11.66 per litre
Morrisons
The Best Irish Cream Liqueur 1 litre for £16.50, but is currently available as a £13.50 per litre More Card offer until 31/12/25
Sainsbury’s
Taste The Difference Irish Cream Liqueur 70cl for £12 Nectar price
Works out at the equivalent cost of £17.14 per litre (Nectar price)
Ocado
M&S Traditional Irish Cream Liqueur 70cl for £10 at Ocado; the price may vary in M&S stores.
Works out at the equivalent cost of £14.29 per litre
Right now, Baileys at £10 per litre beats most of these except Aldi and Lidl. Once the Baileys deals end, these alternatives may become the better value options. They are ideal if you do not want to pay full price or if you want to try something different.
My recommendation
If you want Baileys and you want it cheap, buy it from the supermarket you already shop at. Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda are all offering the same £10 deal. Costco is slightly cheaper, but only makes sense if you already have a Costco membership, plus you'll likely spend more on other things you didn't know you needed until you newent into the store ;)
There is no need to travel across town to save a few pence. Just make sure you have the correct loyalty card ready so the discount works.
Will Baileys get cheaper later in December?
Possibly, but nothing is guaranteed. Last year, the most significant drops occurred early in December, then again briefly a few days before Christmas. Prices move fast, and stock can run out before the deal ends.
Check before you buy!
Use a comparison site like Trolley.co.uk before you shop. It is the easiest way to check the latest supermarket prices on Baileys and the own-brand Irish cream bottles. Deals often change in December!
Faq's about the cheapest Baileys
What is the cheapest Baileys price today?
It is £10 for a 1 litre bottle at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda. Costco is £9.99, including VAT, for members.
Do you need a loyalty card?
Yes for Tesco and Sainsbury’s. Asda does not require one. Costco requires membership. All supermarket loyalty cards are free, so it makes sense to sign up for them.
Will Baileys get cheaper later in the month?
It might, but it is never guaranteed. £10 is usually the main seasonal/Christmas price.
Are supermarket Irish cream bottles any good?
Many of them are decent, and Aldi and Lidl offer the best price per litre. Sainsbury's version was voted as being just as good as Bailey's in a recent Which? taste test.
Can cashback make Baileys cheaper?
Yes, if you buy a supermarket gift card through a cashback app. Cashback is usually around 2.5% to 4% , so will help lower the cost a bit.
Is Morrisons not doing any Baileys deals?
They briefly dropped to £9.97 for Black Friday, but the deal has ended. Last year, they offered £8.50 but only with a £45 More Card spend.
Deal end date warning
All the Baileys offers above have short deal end dates. Many end on the 6th or the 8th of December. Always check the price on the day you shop, as supermarkets can remove deals early due to stock levels!
