Morrisons Has Launched a Travel Booking Service – Here’s What It Means for Your Money

Morrisons has launched Morrisons Travel, a new way to book holidays while earning More Points. Find out if it offers good value, how the rewards work and whether cashback sites still beat it for savings.

Morrisons Travel Review. Is It Actually Good Value for Your Holiday Booking?

If you’re starting to think about your next holiday, you might have noticed something new. Morrisons now has its own travel booking service inside the More Card app. It promises a simple way to book flights, hotels, car hire and activities while earning points you can put towards your food shop.

It sounds appealing. You book a trip you were already planning to take, and in return you get a little something back on your groceries. But as with most things in personal finance, the real value depends on the details. So the question is whether Morrisons Travel is genuinely good value or just another option to compare before you book.

What Exactly Is Morrisons Travel?

Morrisons Travel is an online booking platform you can access through the More Card app or directly on the Morrisons website. You can book flights, hotels, car hire, tours and activities. The whole system is powered by Expedia Group, which means you’re using a familiar booking engine with a Morrisons loyalty layer added on top.

You’re not dealing with an unknown provider. It’s simply a branded version of a major travel platform.

How to Access Morrisons Travel

You can access Morrisons Travel in 2 ways.

  1. Through the More Card app. When you open the app, you’ll see a link to Morrisons Travel on the home screen. Tap it and you’ll be taken straight to the booking platform.

  2. Through the Morrisons website. If you prefer using a laptop or desktop, you can go directly to the Morrisons Travel website and start your search there.

How the Morrisons Rewards Work

This is where Morrisons Travel tries to stand out. When you book through the platform, you earn 10 More Points for every £1 spent on flights, hotels, car hire and activities. The points show as pending in the app and are confirmed once your travel is completed.

This means you now earn points on flights as well, which makes the reward system more appealing than it first appeared.

Once you reach 5,000 More Points, you receive a Morrisons Fiver that you can use in store or online. In simple terms, this works out at roughly 1% back, paid as a supermarket voucher rather than cash.

Why It Sounds Good at First

If you already shop at Morrisons, this feels like a nice extra. You’re booking a holiday anyway, so earning something back towards your food shop feels like a bonus. For families especially, even a small saving on the weekly shop can help.

But this is where it’s worth slowing down and looking at the numbers properly.

Is Morrisons Travel Actually the Best Value?

Not automatically. This is where comparing becomes important.

Morrisons Travel does not offer traditional cashback. Instead, you earn loyalty points that convert into vouchers. If you book through a standard travel site and stack cashback on top, the difference can be significant.

Cashback platforms like TopCashback or Quidco often offer 5% to 10% cashback on hotels or car hire. Sometimes more during promotions. That cashback is paid as real money, not locked into supermarket spending.

As someone who books travel 1 or 2 times a year, I usually choose whichever site gives the best cashback while still being trustworthy. Last year I used the subscription cashback service Complete Savings for my holiday. It gave me 10% cashback after taxes on my flight, hotel, car hire and rental villa. That cashback covered the cost of my first night in the hotel and my car hire. It was absolutely worth the extra 2 minutes of comparing prices against sites that I could earn cashback form , and ones where I couldn't.

If a site seems cheaper but doesn't offer cashback, over a site thats a bit more expensive for the holiday, but does offer cashback, I'll do the maths to see if the more expensive site actually works out to be better on my wallet, after taking all the cashback into account, and go with the best overall price.

What You Should Compare Before Booking

To work out which option is best, compare 3 things.

  1. The base price: Is Morrisons Travel the same price, cheaper or more expensive than other sites.

  2. The reward type: Morrisons gives vouchers for food. Cashback sites give you cash.

  3. The reward rate: Morrisons offers around 1% back. Cashback sites often offer much more.

If Morrisons Travel is price matched and you value grocery savings, it can make sense. But if another site is cheaper and pays cashback, that usually wins.

The Smart Way to Book a Holiday

This is not about loyalty. It’s about value!

The smartest approach is simple. Check the price on Morrisons Travel. Check the same booking elsewhere. Factor in cashback, not just the headline price.

Spending 2 extra minutes comparing can easily mean the difference between a £5 supermarket voucher and £30 or more back in cash!

Who Morrisons Travel Is Best For

Morrisons Travel makes the most sense if you already shop at Morrisons and use the More Card, the price matches other sites, you value supermarket savings over cash, and you want a simple all‑in‑one booking experience.

If you’re someone who actively stacks cashback, promo codes and gift cards, you’ll still want to shop around before committing.

Morrisons Travel is a useful option, not a default choice. If the price stacks up, earning points towards your next food shop is a nice extra. But it’s not automatically the best deal and it shouldn’t replace comparing prices and cashback elsewhere.

As with most things in personal finance, the real savings come from pausing, comparing and choosing deliberately.

Frequently Asked Questions About Morrisons Travel

Is Morrisons Travel cheaper than booking direct? Sometimes it’s the same price and sometimes it’s not. Since it’s powered by Expedia, prices often match Expedia listings. It’s always worth checking a couple of other sites before booking.

Do you earn More Points on every booking?  Yes. You earn points on flights, hotels, car hire and activities. Points appear as pending until after your trip.

How many points do you earn with Morrisons Travel? You earn 10 points per £1 spent. This works out to roughly 1% back in supermarket vouchers.

Is Morrisons Travel better than using cashback sites? Usually cashback sites offer a higher return. Cashback of 5% to 10% is common on hotels and car hire. Morrisons gives around 1% in vouchers. It depends whether you prefer cash or grocery savings.

Can you still earn hotel loyalty points?  Most hotel chains do not award loyalty points on third‑party bookings. You can still earn credit card rewards though.

Is Morrisons Travel worth it? It’s worth considering if the price matches other sites and you like earning money off your food shop. If you want the highest possible return, compare prices and cashback first.
