Are you a budding photographer and take some great photos via your smartphone? If the answer is yes, you might have just found your new side hustle!

Stockimo is a mobile phone photo app that allows users to upload photos to its system. It will then list your photos on stock photo imagery selling sites. Your image can then be licenced for use by organisations such as marketing companies, newspapers, magazines, advertising companies and businesses looking for your type of photo for business-related matters.

You will receive a commission for every licence purchased, and the amount you will receive will depend on what the image is going to be for and by who. You might be around £5 or so for an image used for very basic use; however, if a magazine or newspaper notices your photo, you could look at hundreds of pounds of royalties heading your way!

Each image remains your property and your copyright; you are purely selling a licence for someone to use your image, and the nice thing is that multiple organisations might licence the same image, and each time it does, you get paid again!

Some images that have been used on billboards or advertising campaigns have netted the photographer £500+, so get the right image, and you could be quids in!

It doesn't cost anything to download and use the app; you can start using it immediately.

Upload the photo, add tags to the image saying what the image is and where it was taken, plus any keywords you think might help sell the image, and this will then upload to Stockimo. They will then review the image and make sure it is suitable, and if so, they will get it listed on websites such as Alamy for you and then let you know once you have made some money!

You will be sent your payments via Paypal your balance is £10 or more.

You can only submit photos taken on your phone; they don't want images taken on any other type of camera.

If you come across something newsworthy and take some photos, you can upload these to the service as well, and these are checked faster, as they will then offer your images to newspapers and TV companies, which can make you some decent cash!

I was going to use a screenshot from the app to show you how it works; however, as the app shows images from other users, I would actually be guilty of copyright violations. I could get hit with a fine of up to £25,000 for each image shown unless I pay royalties first, but I don't fancy doing that, so download the app and look for yourself!

You can download the Stockimo app HERE but note it's not available on Android, only on IOS.
