If you’ve not come across Boots £10 Tuesday before and you’re wondering what it is, it’s a weekly online promotion where Boots drops the price of hundreds of selected products to £10 for one day. It's pretty much what the name suggests: products up for grabs for a tenner every Tuesday!

The £10 offers change week to week, and there are usually 300+ products available each week, including beauty, skincare, haircare, health, oral care, cosmetics, gift sets, and plenty of other bits you’d normally find at Boots. The offers are online only and available while stocks last, so something you see earlier in the day might not be there later; I'd suggest buying then and there, or it can turn into a snooze-you-lose situation.

You’ll sometimes see the same product reappear from one week to another, but generally there’s plenty of change. The selection can change with the seasons too, so that you may see more suncare in summer and more gift sets, toys, or winter-type products as Christmas gets closer.

That can make £10 Tuesday particularly useful if you want to spread Christmas shopping over a few months rather than leave everything until December, since you can start grabbing these £10 deals at any point throughout the year, which helps spread the cost of Crimbo. The same principle works for other gifts, such as birthdays, etc.

The amount you actually save varies quite a bit, depending on the deal selection on the day. Some products might only be a couple of pounds cheaper than usual, which could still be useful if it’s something you need, while others can drop by £10, £20 or even more, but no matter how good the deal looks, before actually buying anything, I’d always check what it normally costs and have a quick look elsewhere as well, because just because Boots has reduced something to £10 doesn’t mean another retailer isn’t selling it for the same price, or possibly even less.

And this point is something I always come back to with deals: a saving is only really a saving if it’s something you were likely to buy anyway. If you spend £10 on something you didn’t intend to buy, simply because Boots tells you it used to cost £30, you haven’t saved £20; you’ve spent a tenner! If, however, that £10 purchase saves you money on something you were going to buy anyway, or you can use that product instead of something else you were intending to buy that would have been more expensive, then £10 Tuesday can be a really good way to save money!

A real Boots £10 Tuesday order where we saved £29.50

My wife recently placed a £10 Tuesday order for our household, and it’s a great example of how well this promotion can work. She bought a 2 Pack of Oral-B iO Ultimate Clean toothbrush heads that would normally have cost £30 and a 4 Pack of Oral-B Pro Floss Action heads that normally cost £19.50, and both dropped to £10.

That means the two packs would normally have cost £49.50 between them, but she paid £20, which is a £29.50 saving, or almost 60%, on two products that we actually needed, which made the deal well worth it for us.

She also bought a 500ml bottle of E45 Moisturising Lotion on a separate one-third-off Boots offer, reducing it from £10.99 to £7.33.

The whole basket would have been £60.49 at the listed prices but came down to £27.33, with Boots showing a total product saving of £33.16. Delivery was free because the order was over £25, which was a bonus.

That’s why I’d look at what is actually in the £10 Tuesday selection rather than just seeing a big old price crossed out and getting carried away; we needed the toothbrush heads, so £29.50 staying in our bank account was a genuine saving.

What time does Boots £10 Tuesday start?

Boots doesn’t have a fixed start time I’d rely on to the minute, but the Boots Tuesday offers tend to start appearing between midnight and 2 am. They normally run through Tuesday until 11:59 pm, although the individual products are still subject to stock and can disappear long before the day is over.

As I've said, if you already know you need something, it’s worth checking earlier in the day because the best offers can go quickly.

Is Boots £10 Tuesday the same as Boots Two for Tuesday?

No. Boots £10 Tuesday isn’t a two-for-one or buy-two-for-£20 promotion, although many people search for it using terms such as Boots Two for Tuesday and Boots 2 for Tuesday.

With £10 Tuesday, qualifying products are reduced to £10 each. You can buy one qualifying product for £10, or two for £20 if you genuinely want both, but the second product isn’t free.

If you’re searching for Boots Tuesday offers, £10 Tuesday is the regular weekly promotion you’re probably looking for. The live £10 page really comes into its own on Tuesday, but Boots often has other offers running across the site too, so it’s still worth checking if you already need something.

Don’t forget the delivery costs.

Delivery is the bit that can easily turn £10 deals into something that costs much more, especially if you only want one product, because you'll need to pay a delivery charge if you don't spend enough to qualify for free delivery. Click & Collect currently costs £1.50 if your basket is under £15 and becomes free from £15, while standard delivery is £3.95 below £25 and free once you spend £25.

So if you buy only one £10 Tuesday product, it could cost £11.50 to collect or £13.95 to have it delivered. That might still be a good deal if the product normally costs £30, but it makes a much bigger difference if the normal price is only £13 or £14.

If you were already going to buy something else from Boots, adding it to the same order can take you over one of the free thresholds. I wouldn’t spend another £5 on something you don’t need to avoid a £1.50 collection charge. You’ve spent an extra fiver to save £1.50, so you’re still worse off.

Boots also offers Next Day Delivery for £5.95 and Named Day Delivery for £5.75, so you can choose faster or more specific options if timing matters. Those prices can change, particularly during busy promotional periods, so check the current Boots delivery options before paying.

Don’t forget your Boots Advantage Card.

If you’ve got a Boots Advantage Card, make sure it’s linked to your Boots account before you order. You currently collect 3 points for every £1 spent on qualifying purchases, and each point is worth 1p, so a £10 qualifying purchase gives you 30 points worth 30p.

Now, 30p won’t change your life. But there’s absolutely no reason to throw that 30p away when you’re making the purchase anyway, and all those little amounts add up over time. If you shop at Boots regularly, using the card each time helps you get back what you can.

You may also have personalised Advantage Card offers waiting in the Boots app, so it’s worth checking before you pay. Check each offer, because not every points deal or discount will apply to every £10 Tuesday product.

If you’re a student, a £10 deal could come down to £9

Eligible students can get 10% off many qualifying Boots purchases once they've activated their student discount and linked it to their Advantage Card. Once it’s active, the discount can apply to qualifying online purchases as long as you’re signed into your Boots account with the Advantage Card linked.

That can potentially take a £10 Tuesday product down to £9. You’ll need to activate the student benefit in-store with a valid student ID and reactivate it for each academic year, and there are exclusions.

Can you get cashback on Boots £10 Tuesday?

If you follow me on social media or visit The Penny Pincher regularly, you’ll know I talk about cashback a lot. One purchase might only give you 40p or 50p back, but that’s still 40p or 50p that you haven’t had to spend, and those little amounts can add up to a fair bit over a year.

For tracked cashback, I’d check services such as TopCashback, Quidco, and Rakuten.

Rates can vary, so sign up for all the cashback services, then compare rates before you buy and choose the service offering the best deal at the time.

How do I get the cashback? The easiest method is to go to Boots, add everything you want to the cart, and once you have everything you want, close the browser completely. Then go to the cashback service you're using and search for Boots. Once you find it, click the link to return to the Boots website; your order will still be in the cart, and you can then check out and pay as normal.

Because you clicked on that link to Boots from the cashback service, the cashback service will record the transaction and that will then be tracked to your account and will show as pending until the retailer confirms the transaction has been completed; then that cashback will become payable, but it can take a while before it becomes payable.

Gift-card cashback is another option for Boots. I use services such as JamDoughnut, which I’ve reviewed here, where you buy a Boots gift card first and then earn instant cashback from JamDoughnut for that gift-card purchase. You then use that gift card to pay for your online order.

That cashback will appear instantly in your JamDoughnut cashback wallet, and once you have £10 or more, you can withdraw it to your bank account or use it to get another gift card for a retailer (which will earn you extra cashback too!).

I also use Complete Savings, a subscription cashback service, a lot, so if you’re already a member, I’d check your account there too, as they offer at least 10% cashback. I wouldn’t sign up for a paid cashback service just for one £10 Boots order, but if you already use it regularly, there’s no reason not to.

You generally can’t rely on using a JamDoughnut gift card and then getting tracked cashback through something like TopCashback, because gift-card payments are often excluded. I have had the odd transaction track when I wasn’t expecting it to, but I’d treat that as a bonus rather than making a purchase assuming you’ll get both.

That said, it's always worth a try; I'd be lying if I said I hadn't tried it many times, and I also wouldn't be lying if I said that 'sometimes' it does actually work for some reason... That's all I'm going to say on that!
