If you enjoy listening to a book while walking the dog, cooking dinner or travelling to work, Audible’s latest offer could be a cheap way to try its Standard membership.
The Audible 99p offer gives you three months at 99p a month, with a £10 Audible bonus also advertised. That comes to £2.97 for the discounted subscription period, but it’s worth understanding how the books and renewal work before joining.
What do you get with the Audible 99p offer?
Audible Standard lets you choose one audiobook each month from its collection of 900,000 titles. You can download your choices for offline listening, and your selected books build up in your library while you remain a member. Alongside your monthly choice, you get access to a growing selection of Audible Originals, audiobooks and podcasts, with early access to new episodes of selected shows.
You need to make each month’s choice before your plan renews because unused selections don’t carry over. If you forget to choose your first book, you won’t have two choices waiting the following month. It’s worth browsing for something you actually want to listen to before signing up, particularly if you’ve already got a long reading list elsewhere.
How much will the three months cost?
You’ll pay 99p each month rather than £2.97 upfront, giving a total of £2.97 if you use all three discounted months. At the usual Standard price of £5.99 a month, the same three months would cost £17.97, so the introductory price saves £15. That comparison covers the subscription alone and doesn’t deduct the advertised £10 bonus.
The bonus is described as an Audible bonus, so don’t treat it as £10 cash or an Amazon shopping voucher. Before joining, open the offer page’s “How do I use my £10 bonus?” and “When does the bonus expire?” sections to see how it applies. A bonus you can’t use within its conditions shouldn’t be the reason you take out another subscription.
Do you keep the audiobooks when you cancel?
With Standard, the books you select remain available while you’re a member; they aren’t purchases that you keep permanently after the membership ends. This matters if you’re hoping to choose three books during the offer and listen to them much later without paying anything further. Downloading them for offline listening doesn’t turn them into permanent purchases.
Audible’s membership comparison explains the difference between Standard and Premium Plus. Premium Plus includes credits that can be used to buy audiobooks you keep after cancellation, whereas this promotion is for Standard. If keeping books matters more to you than a low introductory price, compare the plans before deciding.
What happens after the discounted months?
The membership automatically renews at £5.99 a month after the three-month offer unless you cancel. Staying for one further month would bring your total spend to £8.96, so the first full-price payment is more than the entire introductory period. Put a reminder in your calendar before that payment is due, using the renewal date shown in your account.
For a membership taken out through Audible’s website, go to your account’s membership details and follow the cancellation process through to confirmation. Audible’s cancellation guidance explains the steps; deleting the app won’t cancel the subscription. Keep the confirmation so you’ve got a record of the change.
How to get the Audible offer
Open the Audible Standard offer on Amazon and sign in to see the deal available to your account. Before confirming, make sure the page shows 99p a month for three months and the £5.99 monthly renewal, then read the eligibility and bonus conditions displayed there. Don’t continue on the assumption that the discount will be added later if your account shows a different price.
The advertised offer ends on the 28th of December 2026. For someone who’ll use the monthly audiobook choices, £2.97 is a modest cost for trying the service over three months. If you’re unlikely to listen, or mainly want books to keep permanently, the low starting price alone doesn’t make Standard the right choice.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the Audible 99p offer cost in total?
The three discounted months cost £2.97 in total, charged at 99p a month. Membership then renews at £5.99 a month unless you cancel.
Do I keep my Audible Standard books after cancelling?
The audiobooks you select through Standard are available while you remain a member. They aren’t permanent purchases to keep after your membership ends.
Do unused Audible Standard selections roll over?
No, you need to choose your audiobook before your monthly plan renews. Skipping a month doesn’t give you two selections the following month.
Is the £10 Audible bonus an Amazon gift card?
The offer describes it as a £10 Audible bonus, so don’t count it as an Amazon gift card or money back into your bank account. Read the bonus redemption and expiry conditions on the offer page before joining.
When does the Audible 99p offer end?
The advertised closing date is the 28th of December 2026. Your three discounted months run from your subscription start date, with the subsequent renewal details shown when you join.
