What was the Heinz half-price sainsbury's deal, and will it be back in 2025?
In 2024, Sainsbury’s ran one of the hottest supermarket promotions of the year, a Heinz half-price event for Nectar cardholders.
From Friday, 30th August to Sunday, 1st September 2024, shoppers were able to save 50% on 185 Heinz products across the store.
The offer covered all the big names, Tomato Ketchup, Beanz, Soups, Seriously Good Mayonnaise, pasta sauces, and even Heinz baby food.
Prices were slashed in half, giving families and students a rare chance to stock up on cupboard fillers without wrecking the budget.
Here’s a reminder of some of the 2024 bargains:
Heinz Cream of Chicken Soup (400g) – 85p with Nectar (was £1.70)
Heinz Tomato Pasta Sauce for Bolognese (350g) – £1 (was £2)
Heinz Tomato Ketchup (910g) – £2.25 (was £4.50)
Heinz Beanz 6-pack (6 x 415g) – £2.62 (was £5.25)
Heinz Mayonnaise (775g) – £1.70 (was £3.40)
There was a limit of 8 of each product per person, but even with that cap, savvy shoppers filled trolleys with tins and sauces that keep for months.
The deal was also a lifesaver for students, allowing them to fill their cupboards before heading to university, and an easy win for families struggling with rising food costs. Add a cashback hack through the JamDoughnut app, and some shoppers stacked an extra 3.6% cashback on top!
What About 2025?
Sainsbury’s hasn’t confirmed the 2025 Heinz half-price event yet, but based on last year’s timing, there’s a chance it might not be back, as last year's promotion dates have been and gone, but fingers crossed it's coming back, just a little later!
If it does return:
Expect around 50% off hundreds of Heinz lines.
Watch for the 8-per-item limit.
Check cashback apps like JamDoughnut or Cheddar for extra savings.
The safest play? Keep your Nectar card ready and an eye on your Sainsbury’s app, as if the deal drops again, it’ll be one of the best chances all year to bulk buy at genuine half price.
