The Big Toy Sale Season Has Arrived!

Every autumn, parents, grandparents, and bargain hunters circle the toy sales on their calendars. It is that short, golden window when you can get half-price LEGO sets, Barbie houses, and board games before the Christmas rush begins.

For families trying to keep festive spending under control, these sales are a lifeline. They let you spread the cost of Christmas, plan early, and avoid panic-buying in December when shelves are bare and prices climb.

A bit of planning goes a long way. Pair the supermarket toy sales with cashback apps and a quick price comparison online, and you can knock a serious chunk off your Christmas total.

Morrisons Half Price Toy Sale – Up to 50% Off Big Brands

Morrisons has launched one of the best toy sales of 2025, offering up to half price on big-name toys such as Barbie, LEGO, Hot Wheels, Mario Kart, and Bluey.

Running until 26th October, it is exclusive to More Card holders. Scan your card at the till to see the savings automatically applied.

Top deals include:

  • Thomas & Friends Motorised Track Playset – £15 (was £30)

  • Barbie Coffee Shop – £17.50 (was £35)

  • Hot Wheels City Stunt Garage – £20 (was £40)

  • Mario Kart Race Car – £30 (was £60)

  • LEGO Disney Angel – £45 (was £60)

This sale is perfect for anyone who wants to get ahead of Christmas shopping without spending a fortune.

Sainsbury’s Toy Sale – Starts 22nd October 2025

Sainsbury’s toy sale begins on 22nd October, offering up to 50% off popular brands including LEGO, Barbie, and Paw Patrol.

You will need a Nectar card to access the sale prices, but it is free to set up through the Nectar app or website. The sale typically lasts around two weeks, but the best toys tend to sell out quickly.

Tip: Check sites such as PriceSpyIdealo, or Google Shopping to ensure the “sale” price is truly the lowest available before making a purchase.

Tesco Toy Sale – Live Until 2nd November 2025

Tesco’s toy sale started on 16 September and runs until 2 November, giving Clubcard members plenty of time to browse.

You will find up to 50% off across dolls, games, and LEGO sets. You will need a Clubcard to access the deals, both in-store and online. .

Tesco’s sale often overlaps with those of Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, so compare identical toys before checking out to ensure you are getting the best value.

Aldi Wooden Toy Sale – Starts 9th October 2025

Aldi’s wooden toy event returns on the 9th October with its biggest range yet. Prices start from £3.49, and everything is part of the Specialbuys range, meaning when they are gone, they are gone.

New toys this year include the Mechanic’s Car, Double Air Fryer, Ice Cream Cart, and Spa Station, alongside favourites such as the Wooden Aldi Supermarket and Cuthbert Cake playset.

They are only available in store while stocks last, so head to your local Aldi early if you are after something specific.

Lidl Wooden Toy Sale – Also Starts 9th October 2025

Lidl’s wooden toy event begins the same day, on the 9th October, and runs until 15th October.

You can save up to 20% using Lidl Plus, which includes more than 100 FSC-certified wooden toys. It is one of the most affordable ways to pick up eco-friendly Christmas gifts for younger children.

The full list of toys is available in the Lidl app.

Asda’s Toy Event – Already Come and Gone

Asda’s toy event kicked off on September 8th, 2025, and has now ended.

If you missed it, keep an eye out in late November, as Asda often runs smaller Black Friday promotions in the lead-up to Christmas.

Should You Wait for Black Friday Toy Deals?

Black Friday 2025 falls on 28 November, and more toy deals are expected from Amazon, Smyths, and Very.

However, waiting can be risky. By then, many of the top toys, such as LEGO sets, Barbie playhouses, and Bluey playsets, may already be gone.

If you have specific toys in mind, it is safest to buy during the supermarket toy sales. If you are willing to gamble on availability, consider setting up price alerts with tools like Honey or CamelCamelCamel to track any last-minute price drops.

Stack Even More Savings With Cashback Apps Like JamDoughnut

Pay using a cashback gift card, from gift card cashback apps such as JamDoughnut, and you can earn up to 5% cashback instantly.
