I spotted the new Wonka sweets and chocolates in Tesco on the 1st of October, and they immediately got me thinking about Christmas gifts. A chocolate bar with a purple filling, little chocolate top hats and an Oompa Loompa figure are rather more fun to unwrap than a plain bar, especially if you’re buying for someone who loves the films.

They aren’t the cheapest way to buy chocolate, but the current Clubcard prices make them a little easier on the gift budget.

The Wonka range at Tesco starts at £1.30 with Clubcard, with six products listed and offers running until the 30th of March 2027. I think they’d work well as stocking fillers, additions to children’s party bags or part of a homemade gift hamper.

When I ran my confectionery business, we used to put together hampers with a selection of Wonka sweets and goodies, finished off with a Wonka film; this new range gives you a chance to make something similar yourself.

Prices and product details checked on the 1st of October 2026. Availability varies by store and delivery area.

What’s in the new Tesco Wonka range, and how much is it?

There’s a mix of chocolate and chewy sweets, so you can choose a couple of favourites rather than feeling you need to buy the whole collection. The lowest-priced item is the Wonka Kinder Joy at £1.30 with Clubcard, while the £6.25 Magic Hats box is more of a sharing gift. Here are the pack sizes and savings against Tesco’s listed regular prices.

The Purplypurple bar has a purple caramel-flavoured milky filling, while the Magic Hats assortment mixes milk, white and dark chocolate with fillings including bubblegum, caramel and cola with popping candy.

The chocolate Oompa Loompa is a hollow figure with green hair, which could make a fun centrepiece for a small hamper. I haven’t taste-tested the new range, so these are the product details rather than a verdict on how they taste.

If you’d rather have sweets, Magic Garden contains lemon and lime-flavoured ropes, while the Oompa Loompa gummies have blueberry and strawberry flavours with a raspberry-cola centre.

The Kinder Joy combines milky and cocoa creams with wafer bites and a Wonka-themed Funko toy. For party bags, match the treats to the children’s ages and dietary needs: the toy has small parts, and both bags of chewy sweets contain gelatine, so they aren’t vegetarian.

How long are the Clubcard prices available?

The six listed offers run until the 30th of March 2027, so there’s time to plan a gift without treating this as a one-day offer. Scan your Clubcard in store, or make sure it’s linked to your account when shopping online, to get the lower prices. Tesco’s online offer wording applies to the delivery date, so check the price against your chosen slot rather than assuming the day you place the order is what counts.

I’ve already seen the range in Tesco, although Ferrero’s original launch announcement named the 22nd of October for its Tesco rollout. Tesco now has the products listed, but that doesn’t mean every branch has every item.

The range has also launched at Morrisons and Asda, so it’s worth checking the supermarket you normally use before making a special trip.

Make a Wonka gift hamper with a film or book

Choose a couple of treats the recipient will enjoy, then add a film or book to give the gift something they can keep once the chocolate has gone.

The hampers we made in my confectionery business brought the film and the sweets together as one gift. You don’t need to spend much on the container to recreate that idea: a small box with tissue paper can work just as well as buying a wicker basket.

Choose a couple of treats the recipient will enjoy, then add a film or book to give the gift something they can keep once the chocolate has gone.

There are three Amazon options below, including the newer Wonka film and a double DVD with the Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp versions. The third link is the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory paperback, which would suit someone who enjoys reading or being read to.

Check that the recipient has a DVD player before buying the movies as technology has moved on a bit and not evertone has a player!

Amazon prices can change.

For a £10 example, you could pair the £5 book with the £3 Purplypurple bar and a £2 bag of Oompa Loompa gummies at the Clubcard prices.

That total doesn’t include a hamper/box, wrapping or delivery, so using something you already have helps keep the cost down, if not I usually find that The Works has cheap hamper products from about £4 and Amazon has DIY hamper kits from about £6.99 . If the book or film is already on their shelf, you could spend less and make a small treat box instead.

The individually packaged Kinder Joy or a chocolate bar could also work as a stocking filler, while a £2 sweet bag gives you a lower-cost option than the larger chocolate box. For party bags, choose a sensible portion, keep the ingredient information available for parents and check allergies before handing anything out.

Who makes Wonka chocolate now?

This new range comes from Ferrero, the same group behind Kinder, Nutella and Ferrero Rocher. If you remember Wonka sweets being associated with Nestlé, you’re remembering an earlier part of the brand’s history: Ferrero acquired the Wonka confectionery rights through its purchase of Nestlé’s US confectionery business in 2018. These are new products, so familiar branding doesn’t mean the recipes will be the same as the sweets you remember.

Could cashback make your Wonka gifts cheaper?

If you’re picking the treats up in store, our JamDoughnut review explains how buying a supermarket gift card can earn you cashback. You buy a Tesco gift card in the app, receive cashback in your JamDoughnut account and use the gift card to pay, remembering to scan your Clubcard as usual. Tesco gift cards through JamDoughnut are for in-store use, so don’t buy one expecting to use it for an online grocery order.

For other online purchases, services such as TopCashback, Quidco and Rakuten are worth checking where the retailer and product qualify, as explained in our cashback websites guide.

Allow for delivery before deciding what to buy

Adding a couple of Wonka treats to a grocery order you were already making is different from paying for a delivery just to get a £2 sweet bag. Tesco’s standard delivery charges are £3–£7, with Flexi saver slots from £1.50 and collection from £0, depending on availability. A separate £5 charge applies below £50 for delivery or £25 for collection, including for Delivery Saver members.

For the Amazon gifts, delivery charges may apply depending on the seller, order and your Prime membership. Amazon’s free-delivery rules include qualifying orders with at least £10 of eligible books dispatched by Amazon, or £35 of eligible items; eligible Prime purchases can qualify without reaching those thresholds.

Check the final total before paying, then choose the treats and film or book that fit your gift budget rather than filling the basket just to avoid postage.

Frequently asked questions

What Wonka sweets can you buy at Tesco?

Tesco lists Magic Hats chocolates, the Purplypurple bar, an Oompa Loompa chocolate figure, Oompa Loompa gummies, Magic Garden ropes and a Wonka Kinder Joy. Stock varies by branch and delivery area.

When do the Wonka Clubcard offers end?

The six offers checked run until the 30th of March 2027. Tesco’s online listings specify qualifying delivery dates, so check the price for your chosen slot.

Who makes the new Wonka chocolate?

The new range is from Ferrero, the group behind Kinder, Nutella and Ferrero Rocher. Ferrero acquired the Wonka confectionery rights through its purchase of Nestlé’s US confectionery business in 2018.

Are the Wonka gummies vegetarian?

The listed ingredients for both Oompa Loompa gummies and Magic Garden ropes include gelatine, so neither is vegetarian. Check each pack separately for ingredients and allergens.

Can you get cashback on Wonka treats at Tesco?

For an in-store purchase, you can check JamDoughnut for Tesco gift-card cashback and use your Clubcard when paying. The Tesco gift cards on JamDoughnut are for in-store use, so this route won’t pay for a Tesco online grocery order.
