Invite People for Dinner at Your House

Sure, this also might sound expensive, given how entertaining people at home can cost a lot, too. However, if you pick an inexpensive meal that will still wow your guests, it will be a win-win situation. Some of the most delicious Italian meals are made of simple, yet effective ingredients, like the mouth-watering pasta Napoletana, made of homemade tomato paste, spaghetti, or linguini and basil. Tastes yummy but costs basically nothing.

Board Games Are Always a Great Idea

While you have people at your house, why not hop into the porch and roll out some of the most fun interactive board games that you’ve put away in the attic? Dust them off and you’ll see how happy your guests will be that they can get a chance to enjoy a lovely evening laughing and playing games, with a glass of wine in their hand.

With More Athletic Guests, Try Backyard Games

Kubb, croquet or a simple frisbee tossing can be such fun if you have athletic friends at your house. They certainly will enjoy the competitive spirit, the outdoor environment and the extra workout they’ll get by joining you on this crazy adventure.

Host a Fun Game Night

Sure, playing cards was the favourite pastime of many in the past, with some simple snacks or a cheese platter and beer or wine on the side. Today, you can go retro and replicate that atmosphere, or simply ask your friends to take out their mobile devices and explore casinos.com to join an online casino site that will allow you to play a game together. Multiplayer games are a thing, and so exciting to play, especially among friends.

Movie Night? All In!

You and your friends probably share the same taste in movies. Even if you don't, there's time to watch two or even three movies in one evening. Get in touch with your friends and suggest a movie marathon and they'll surely be thrilled to watch their favourite movie with you and see how you react when you see it. Stack up on some blankets and pillows, dim the lights, and put that beer in the fridge, as your guests won't be going home for a while!

If You Want to Go Out, Look for Some Local Public Events

Entertaining at home may seem like the most budget-friendly idea, but going to a local public event is lovely, too. Check whether there’s some beer fest in your vicinity, some art gallery to visit where the entrance is free, some outdoor concert or show by local artists, or something else that you and your friends can enjoy together.

Rollerblading at the Park with Friends? Sounds Like a Plan!

Whether you rollerblade, skateboard or ride a bike, if you have at least one friend that shares your passion for these things, invite them for a pleasant afternoon where you can do your thing, talk in between, and share some laughs in on a brisk summer day.

Go to a Karaoke Bar

You will need to pay for your drink, sure, but if you keep your drinks at a minimum and grab the microphone, your night will be more than amazing. For this, you can go alone if you want, but it’s always more fun with friends; so, invite those, preferably those that don't know how to sing, and prepare for a night full of giggles. Every good karaoke story starts with a description of someone who sucks in singing, but rules in making people laugh!

If More of a Morning Person, Go for a Hike

Depending on where you live, you may have a nice mountain top that you can explore with your friends, hiking. But even if that’s not an option, you can always go for a simple walk through the park and enjoy nature and friendly talks. If hiking is an option, though, call your best friend early in the morning, put on your training shoes, put on some sunscreen, your hat and sunglasses, and you’re good to go grab the day!

Swimming in the Lake or the River? Not a Bad Idea Either

Again, this depends on where you live and what’s in your surroundings, but if you live near any natural swimming pool, be that the sea, a lake, or a river, you don’t need to think any further: you’ve got yourself a cost-free entertainment for the rest of your life. There’s nothing better than taking a dip, any time of the day, day or night, especially when you have your best friends to join you.

The Bottom Line: It’s Up to You

You will find some really great ideas here, some of which you’ve thought of when you decided to go on a budget-friendly entertainment hunt. At the end of the day, the way you wish to spend your time depends on you, and on how much you’re willing to spend. As you can see, there are some completely cost-free things to do, mostly in nature, but there are also some cool things to do that come at a low cost, so you can consider them, as well.

The point is, you don’t need to spend a lot to have a great time, as long as you know how to organise your day. And of course, as long as your mates are up for it! Do not hesitate to give them a call; maybe they, too, have made a plan for you that does not involve spending money!
