Tesco Cadbury Deal: Chocolate From 95p With Clubcard
Tesco has cut selected 100g Cadbury sharing bags from £1.95 to just 95p for Clubcard members, knocking £1 off each bag and taking the price down to better than half price.
The Tesco Cadbury deal comes just a week after rival supermarket Sainsbury’s launched its own Cadbury price promotion, reducing a large selection of Cadbury products to 97p, including several of the popular sharing bags alongside other chocolate offers.
Cadbury promotions always seem to attract plenty of interest, and the displays in stores are usually surrounded by shoppers filling up their baskets. These sorts of deals tend to appear around some of the biggest chocolate-buying times of the year, such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
The sharing bags make useful stocking fillers; they’re handy for Halloween treats, and they often get used in Christmas baking as well. Of course, plenty of people will buy a few to keep in the cupboard for snacking over the festive season.
Cadbury has also faced plenty of online discussion recently around recipe changes, ingredients and people’s perception of the quality of some of its chocolate. Whatever your view on that, these supermarket promotions are still hugely popular, so Tesco launching its own 95p Cadbury offer just as the festive buying season gets underway is good timing.
Here’s what’s included in the Tesco deal, how long the offers run for, and where the best savings are
The Tesco Cadbury deal runs from the 22nd to the 28th of September and includes Dairy Milk Buttons, Twirl Bites, Bitsa Wispa, Crunchie Rocks and several other 100g Cadbury bags.
Tesco also has some strong Christmas chocolate offers running at the same time, including 500g Celebrations and 550g Quality Street tubs for £3.95 instead of £7.
Which Cadbury chocolates are 95p at Tesco?

Each one is reduced by £1, taking the price from £1.95 to 95p, so you’re saving just over half the normal Tesco price on each bag.
If you’re picking up a few bags for Halloween, Christmas, a movie night or to keep in the cupboard, paying 95p instead of the usual £1.95 can make a decent difference once you start buying more than one.
Two bags would save you £2, while five bags would save £5, so if you were already planning to stock up for treats, baking or the festive season, buying them while they’re reduced makes far more sense than paying full price later. It's unlikely this deal will be back again before Christmas, unless another supermarket also runs a similar promotion.
You need a Tesco Clubcard to get the 95p price.
The 95p price is a Clubcard Price, so you need to scan your Clubcard when shopping in-store or have it linked to your Tesco account when ordering online.
Clubcard Prices are available both in-store and through Tesco.com, and if you don’t use your Clubcard, you’ll pay the normal selling price instead.
Stock will vary between stores, so if you are making a special trip for a particular flavour, check the Tesco app or website first.
Tesco Christmas chocolate tubs are also £3.95
There are a couple of particularly good Christmas chocolate tub prices at Tesco at the moment as well.
Quality Street 550g is £3.95 with Clubcard instead of £7, saving £3.05 per tub. The current £3.95 offer runs until the 2nd of January.
Celebrations 500g is also £3.95 with Clubcard instead of £7, again saving £3.05, although that deal currently ends much sooner, on the 29th of September.
If you know you are going to buy tubs for Christmas anyway, £3.95 is a much more attractive price than waiting and paying the normal £7 Tesco price later.
I wouldn’t go mad and fill a cupboard simply because they are reduced, but picking up a couple now for Christmas can make sense if they are something you would normally buy anyway.
Which £3.95 tub gives you more chocolate?
Quality Street gives you slightly more chocolate for the same £3.95 price.
The Quality Street tub contains 550g, which works out at roughly 72p per 100g, while the 500g Celebrations tub works out at 79p per 100g.
That doesn’t mean you should buy Quality Street if everyone in your house prefers Celebrations, but if you are happy with either, you are getting an extra 50g for the same money with Quality Street.
What about Cadbury Heroes and Roses tubs?
Cadbury Heroes and Roses are reduced as well, but they aren’t £3.95.
The 475g Cadbury Heroes tub is £5.25 with Clubcard instead of £7, while the 475g Roses tub is also £5.25 instead of £7. That saves £1.75 per tub.
If you don’t have a strong preference between the four big Christmas tubs, the £3.95 Celebrations and Quality Street prices give you the bigger saving at the moment.

Cadbury Time Out Milk Chocolate and Time Out Orange 5-packs are 95p with Clubcard instead of £1.65 until the 31st of October.
There are also larger promotional packs in the current range, including some Cadbury treat-size multipacks at half price, so it is worth checking the wider Cadbury section if you are stocking up for Halloween or Christmas rather than only looking at the 100g bags.

Yes. The current Clubcard Prices are showing through Tesco Groceries online as well as being available in-store where the products are stocked.
If you order online, make sure your Clubcard is linked to the Tesco account you are using so the promotional price is applied.
The products available can differ between stores and delivery areas, so your local selection may not include every 95p bag listed above.
Could you save a little more on the Tesco shop?
If you already use gift-card cashback, it is worth checking whether Tesco is available before paying for your shop.
I regularly compare services such as JamDoughnut with other gift-card cashback options because the rates and retailers can differ. If Tesco is available and the gift card works for the way you are shopping, that gives you another possible saving on top of the Clubcard Price.
I wouldn’t choose a more expensive way to shop purely to chase cashback, though. The 95p Clubcard Price is the main saving here; any cashback on top is extra money back from a shop you were already going to do.
Ordering your 95p online? Rakuten could be a great cashback option!
If you’re ordering your Tesco shop online, Tesco gift cards can’t currently be used to pay for grocery home delivery or Click & Collect orders, so gift-card cashback isn’t an option in the same way it is when you’re shopping in-store.
You can still earn cashback on an online Tesco order by going through a traditional cashback service first, and at the time of writing Rakuten is running an enhanced sign-up offer. New customers who join through a referral link and make qualifying purchases totalling at least £30 excluding VAT, effectively £36 including VAT, within 90 days can receive a £30 bonus on top of their normal cashback. Recent reports of the current promotion also confirm that the qualifying spend can be built up across more than one purchase.
Tesco is one of the retailers available through Rakuten, so if you were already planning a larger online grocery shop, you could sign up, click through to Tesco from Rakuten and let that order count towards the qualifying spend.
If you’re buying some of these 95p Cadbury deals at the same time, that £30 bonus could effectively cover the cost of the chocolate and a sizeable chunk of the rest of your basket, provided the purchase tracks correctly and meets the offer terms.
If the enhanced £30 offer has finished by the time you read this, Rakuten normally runs a lower sign-up bonus instead. The standard offer has recently been £25 when you make qualifying purchases totalling £50 excluding VAT, around £60 including VAT, within 90 days.
That spend doesn’t have to be with one retailer either, so you could do £30 at Tesco, £20 at Boots and £10 at another participating retailer and still reach the £60 total across your qualifying purchases.

Is the Tesco 95p Cadbury deal worth stocking up on?
If these are products you normally buy, 95p instead of £1.95 is a strong price, particularly because each bag is saving you £1.
Buying five bags would normally cost £9.75, while five at the 95p Clubcard Price cost £4.75, leaving £5 in your pocket.
That doesn’t mean buying ten bags you didn’t need suddenly becomes a bargain, but if you were already planning to buy chocolate for Halloween, Christmas, a party or simply for the cupboard, buying it while it is better than half price makes far more sense than paying £1.95 later.
