Where Kids Eat Free or for £1 This Easter
Want to know where kids eat free or for £1 this Easter? From big-name restaurants to supermarket cafés, we’ve rounded up all the best UK family dining deals to help you save while you eat out.
Whether it’s a quick pit stop during your weekly shop or a special family treat, these offers are a great way to save money while still enjoying a meal out.

They can sometimes be eye-wateringly expensive, making it cheaper to eat elsewhere, even at restaurants where kids' meals aren't discounted, but adult meals offer better value.
Money-saving tip: You can stretch your budget even further by paying with gift cards through cashback apps like JamDoughnut and earning cashback on your food bill, up to 10%. That cashback will soon add up!

Kids Eat Free & £1 Deals: Your Questions Answered...
Where can kids eat free this school holiday? You’ll find these deals at big names like Tesco Café, Asda Café, Bella Italia, Brewers Fayre, and others.
Do I always need to buy an adult meal? In most cases, yes. “Kids eat free” or “kids eat for £1” offers usually require at least one full-priced adult main. Sometimes the adult mains can be pricey, so check the menu first to make sure you’re actually saving.
What’s the simplest low-faff deal right now? Asda Café is one of the easiest. Kids’ meals are £1 all year round with no adult spend needed. It’s a straightforward deal that’s great for quick lunches or tea after shopping.
Are supermarket cafés still running these offers? Yes, most still are, but some supermarket cafés, including Asda and Morrisons, have closed in certain areas. Always check that your local branch still has a café before making a special trip.
Can I stack these deals with cashback or gift cards? Absolutely. I always try to pay using discounted gift cards bought through cashback apps like JamDoughnut. It means you’re saving twice, once on the kids’ meal deal and again on the total bill.
Are these deals weekday only? Most run Monday to Friday, but some chains like TGI Fridays or The Real Greek offer weekend options too. Always double-check the small print for your chosen location.
What age counts as a “child”? That depends on the restaurant. Some deals are for under 10s, others for under 12s, and a few go up to under 16s. It’s worth checking the fine print, especially if your child is edging into the adult menu territory.
Any hidden catches to watch for? Not really, but a couple of things can trip you up. Some adult meals can be so expensive they cancel out the savings, and a few supermarket cafés have closed, so always check ahead.
What if my child prefers an adult meal? That’s our situation now. Our eight-year-old often wants the adult menu. If the portion size and quality justify it, the adult meal can still offer better value than a small kids’ portion, even without a promo.
Are there airport or city centre exclusions? Yes, some chains don’t run these offers in high-traffic locations like airports or central London sites. Always check the terms before you book or travel.
Any cheap options beyond restaurants?Yes. IKEA’s kids’ meals start at 95p, and supermarket cafés often offer the best overall value. They’re not flashy, but they’re reliable, filling, and cheap.
Penny Pincher Tips That Actually Save
Check before you go. Confirm the branch is open and the promo dates match your region.
Stack the payment. Pay with a discounted gift card through JamDoughnut or another cashback app to double your savings.
Compare the real cost. Sometimes, an adult meal at a cheaper pub or café beats a kids-eat-free chain overall.
Don’t wait around. Most of these offers end with the school holidays, so plan ahead and make the most of them while they last.
What can I do if I can't afford to eat out?
Not everyone has the budget to eat out; after all, having the kids off school can be expensive. Here are some cheaper options for feeding the nippers at home.
Use apps such as Too Good To Go to rescue food from supermarkets and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste, or grab completely free food from the food waste reduction app Olio.
Use the current Gousto referral offer to save 65% off your first Gousto box. This means you could feed 5 people for 4 days for £21.62, which works out at £1.08 per portion. All the info on how it works is on the blog here.
Use supermarket coupon/cashback apps to get discounts on selected products. The three main apps that offer this are Shopmium, Checkoutsmart, and GreenJinn. The apps show you products with savings of up to 100%. You purchase the product, upload proof of purchase, and then you'll be refunded the discount amount to your app's wallet. You can then withdraw the funds once you've reached the minimum withdrawal amount.
